चीन ने आठ महीने बाद शुक्रवार को स्वीकार किया कि गलवान वैली में पिछले साल जून में भारतीय सैनिकों के साथ संघर्ष में उसके सैनिक भी मारे गए थे. चीनी सेना पीपल्स लिबरेशन आर्मी ने कहा है कि गलवान में उस के कुल चार सैनिक मारे गए थे. इस संघर्ष में भारत के 20 सैनिक मारे गए थे. लेकिन चीन ने तब अपने सैनिकों की मौत की बात सार्वजनिक नहीं की थी. शुक्रवार को चीन की तरफ़ से गलवान वैली में 21 जून को भारत और चीन के सैनिकों की हिंसक झड़प का चुनिंदा वीडियो फुटेज भी जारी किया था. ऐसे में सवाल उठ रहे हैं कि जब दोनों देशों के सैनिक विवादित इलाक़ों से पीछे हट रहे हैं तब चीन ने अचानक से अपने सैनिकों की मौत की बात को सार्वजनिक क्यों किया? शुक्रवार को चीनी विदेश मंत्रालय की नियमित प्रेस कॉन्फ़्रेंस में मंत्रालय की प्रवक्ता हुअ चुनयिंग से यही सवाल पूछा गया.
